A Life Shaped by Words

Samuel Nyarko Junior, professionally known as Kwadwo Awortey, is a Ghanaian poet, spoken-word performer, creative leader, and talent coach who has been writing and performing for more than a decade.

Throughout his career, Kwadwo has had the honor of performing before some of Ghana’s most distinguished leaders and traditional authorities. These include the President of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama; former President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, before whom he has performed on several occasions.

He has also performed in the presence of Nana Otuo Siriboe II, the Ga Mantse, the Juabenhene, the Mamponghene, and numerous chiefs and dignitaries.

Kwadwo’s poetry has been featured at events organized by the German–West African Centre for Global Health and Pandemic Prevention, Ghana EXIM Bank, the Ghana Standards Authority, the Ghana Physicians and Surgeons Foundation, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Technical University, the University of Cape Coast, the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine, the Academy of International Business Africa, Clean Team Ghana, churches, and many other institutions.

Through these platforms, he has performed before ambassadors, vice-chancellors, professors, political leaders, members of the clergy, and other distinguished audiences from around the world.

Poetry With Purpose

His work explores themes including love, peace, unity, Africa, religion, social responsibility, and women’s empowerment.

Kwadwo has shared his poetry and perspectives through media platforms such as the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GHOne TV, Luv FM, Kapital Radio, and others.

Creative Leadership and Mentorship

Beyond his work as a poet and performer, Kwadwo previously served as Managing Director of Springverve Productions. He is also the visionary and leader of Da GAS Crew, a creative group known for performing poetic drama on Luv FM in Kumasi.

Today, Kwadwo continues to nurture the next generation of creative voices. As a talent coach, he trains and mentors emerging writers and performers, helping them develop their confidence, writing abilities, stagecraft, and authentic artistic expression.
